Port of Los Angeles Animal ER is looking for an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to run our ER practice.  We are a privately owned emergency only hospital located in Wilmington, CA.  We are opening our doors later this year or early next year and we are looking for a manager who wants to be part of a start-up company and can help us create an amazing hospital with a wonderful environment.  Our practice owners are dedicated to practicing high quality medicine while at the same time pricing our hospital to reflect the needs of our community.  We are creating a professional culture of accountability and responsibility to each other and our clients. 

Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of veterinary practice management experience and have their CVPM or is interested in becoming a CVPM.   We will have Ezyvet & Smartflow, so experience with that software is preferred. 

Our full-time practice manager is eligible for the following benefits:

  • Competitive salary $70,000 – $80,000 (DOE)

The practice manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice.  

Duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Human Resources/Personnel Management
  • Hiring and training new team members
  • Monitor and boost team morale through education, coaching, and counseling.
  • Knowledge of California Labor Law, DEA regulations, VMB regulations, Safety, & OSHA compliance
  • Help increase practice revenue & business.
  • Help with budgeting and financial evaluation.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service are delivered to our clients.
  • Work with the Practice Owner in managing operations daily to establish priorities, strategies, and policies to drive success.
  • Coordinates with the Medical Team to provide the best possible veterinary care.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze reports on planning, finances, and performance.
  • Providing opportunities for ongoing education and training
