HIRED! Veterinary Practice Manager Wanted, Long Beach, CA, 2025!

Golden State Humane Society is looking for a practice manager to run our team at our Long Beach location.  We are non-profit veterinary hospitals who have been serving local communities for close to 50 years.   We have two locations, one Garden Grove and one in Long Beach. We are high volume, low-cost spay and neuter hospitals who take pride in providing excellent and affordable veterinary care to pets whose owners have low-income.

We are looking for a full-time practice manager to help run our hospital in partnership with our executive director.  Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of management experience and at least one year of experience working in a veterinary hospital.  

We believe in strong communication, so we have monthly team meetings to keep everyone connected and informed.   Our practice manager does not have to lead alone; we have a leadership team to help the clinic run efficiently.

The practice manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice.  Our ideal candidate will be a good communicator and be a good leader.  They will be able to provide coaching and guidance to our team members.  They will have the ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results for the hospital.   

Duties include, but are not limited to,

  • Human Resources/Personnel Management
  • Hiring and training new team members
  • Creating the team schedule
  • Monitor and boost team morale through education, coaching, counseling
  • Knowledge of Labor Law, DEA regulations, VMA regulations, Safety, & OSHA compliance
  • Help increase practice revenue & business
  • Ordering inventory
  • Help with budgeting and financial evaluation
