Dover Shores Pet Care Center is looking for kennel attendant/veterinary assistant. Dover Shores has been in Costa Mesa for over 25 years and strives to provide expert veterinary care with a personal touch. The hospital is equipped with the finest in-house laboratory and our doctor performs a broad range of medical procedures.
Our ideal candidate loves animals and is sympathetic to how powerfully humans’ bond with their pets. The candidate should be a high school graduate, be available to work our scheduled hours, and enjoy being part of a team.
Veterinary hospital experience is preferred, but not required.
The duties of the position can include but are not limited to:
- Walking/feeding/medicating pets.
- Bathing dogs and cats.
- Cleaning and sanitizing the hospital, including taking care of the laundry.
- Assisting the technicians with the animals.
- Must be willing to learn and adapt to hospital protocols.
- Able to sit, squat, bend, walk quickly, and stand for 6+ hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift, pull, restrain, or push 50 lbs of weight and reach above head.
This is a full-time position and we are looking for someone with a flexible schedule. Weekends and some holidays ARE required.
We provide veterinary discounts for our employees as well as sick pay and PTO for full time employees after one year.
Compensation is based upon experience.

Experienced Tech Assistant Needed In Long Beach!

Basic duties include:
- Taking medical history & explaining treatment plans
- Animal restraint
- Injectable treatments
- Placing IV catheters & venipuncture
- Taking digital x-rays & running lab tests
- Using a microscope
- Operating and maintaining diagnostic equipment
- Monitoring anesthesia
