Instagram will only let me put 50 pictures up I usually have a thousand of all of the training and all of the veterinary professionals I have connected with in the past 5 years. It`s been a great ride and I`m so excited for the next 5 years!

                        Early morning traveling for work on a Sunday is a little bit different. The TSA lines were really long and it was busier than my normal Monday morning flight.  Thank God for TSA pre✅! Our line was much quicker 

I love the fact that there is a piano in the airport as well. Maybe I will practice more at home and play something on it in the future lol. 

The next 3 days will be busy but I`m ready to work! ☺️

                        Like any other veterinary professional, I have to bring my pets in for their exams. 

Mo went for a weight check and Betsy went for her annual exam and vaccine booster.

Olie, the hospital`s office cat was trying to make friends with Mo in the lobby lol

The Cat Care Clinic has been my cat`s hospital since 2003 when I started working there. Even though I`m no longer the manager there, I still have a special connection with the hospital, their doctors, and the team. 

Dr Brown is amazing and I love working with her.

It`s going to be hard on us next year when We move and have to find a new doctor. Thankfully I`m in the veterinary field and I have connections lol.

                        Last night I had the honor of speaking at the SCVMA`s Southeast Chapter meeting!

We had a great turnout and there was a wonderful mixture of veterinarians, technicians and client service representatives.

They were a really engaging group and I loved all the audience participation. 

Talking about client service and how to handle financial conversations isn`t easy, and my goal is to provide tools and phrases to help with those conversations.

                        Client service training at Petsadena Animal hospital!

Yesterday, I went to Petsadena Animal Hospital to work with their client service team. 

The team was so much fun to work with and I had a great time. 

Client and customer service training is something that I truly enjoy doing. Without our client service teams a veterinary hospital would not be very successful. 

Creating relationships with clients and their pets is so important and an essential part of working in a veterinary hospital ❤️

                        It`s time! Today I get to spend 5-6 hours at Kaiser getting my MS IV infusion treatment. 

Since I own my own company I am able to bring my office with me and still get some work done. 

I have had MS for over 20 years and thankfully my current treatment seems to be working so I can function at a somewhat normal level (I am not sure that anyone who knows me would call me normal lol). 

MS is a complicated autoimmune disease.
It is an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.

Symptoms can range from severe fatigue, dysesthesia, difficulty walking, numbness/tingling, spasticity in different parts of your body, weakness, vision issues, vertigo, dizziness, bladder/bowel issues, cognitive changes (brain fog), depression, speech issues, and the list goes on. 

I have experienced a lot of these symptoms including walking issues, left arm and leg weakness, double vision, major dizzy spells, speech issues, spasticity, and brain fog just to name a few 

I keep sharing information about my disease because I want people to know that health issues are normal and it is okay to talk about them without fear of judgement or ridicule.

                        I just landed!! After a very busy weekend at three events I had a 6:45 a.m. flight to San Francisco this morning!

I am visiting Lenity Veterinary Specialists for my regular visit. The next few days will be super busy and I`m very excited!

I am enjoying starbucks new iced pumpkin creme chai tea latte ❤️❤️ ❤️

                        Today, on the first day of our "hurricane" I received this message from my neurologist from my last MRI earlier this month ☺️

"Just to let you know, your MRI scan is stable with no new or active lesions which is good news, Dr... MD"

This is really good news! I`ve been on a new treatment over the past two years and it seems to be working!

I have had multiple sclerosis for over 20 years. I have been hospitalized twice, gone through hours of treatment and testing, given myself three different types of injections, and had several major relapses. 

These relapses have prevented me from walking correctly, using my left arm, given me double vision, given me major dizzy spells, causing me to slur my words, and caused me to have brain fog where I can`t think straight. These are just some of the symptoms I`ve experienced.

Just last week at universal studios, the crazy escalators almost put me into a vertigo spin. So I constantly have to think about my brain and how things affect it. 

Having multiple sclerosis is no joke, and as anyone with a chronic illness knows it`s a pain in the a*$!

But knowing that my treatment is working is wonderful and I`ll take it. 

Hopefully it will slow down my illness and I will get to be "somewhat" normal longer.

I share this information because I`m excited and I want other people with chronic illnesses to feel comfortable sharing their stories as well. Don`t be ashamed

                        Today I had the privilege of presenting to the team at Orange County Emergency Pet Clinic!

We talked about conveying compassion and empathy when communicating to clients about pet euthanasia`s.

Even though veterinary professionals deal with euthanasia on a daily basis, it is not easy for us. And sometimes it`s hard for us to talk to clients about it because we`re trying to hold back our own emotions.

By learning how to convey empathy to clients during this difficult time, we can truly give them the compassion they deserve.

                        I`m so excited to be speaking at a local veterinary event!

On August 27th, I will be speaking at the Veterinary Team Training Symposium at Platt college in Anaheim.

As most of you know, I am very active in the veterinary field. I do a lot of training and speaking engagements. I love to focus on leadership, client service, team training and communication. And the Veterinary Team Training Symposium has all of these things and more!

                        Sometimes even veterinary professionals have to take their dog to the vet!

On Friday evening Simo broke into our pantry and ate half a bag of uncooked rice and a bag of sliced almonds!

Needless to say, the rice does not absorb or digest, it passes through to the intestines causing him some serious intestinal upset along the way 😥

He was feeling pretty lethargic yesterday so this morning I took him into one of the hospitals I work with, Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach. 

We did some x-rays and blood work and we got some medication to help his gastroenteritis (fancy word for upset tummy lol).

He is feeling much better tonight, although he is still pooping rice logs 😂

                        Today I represented the  SCVMA Board at UC Irvine for the 10th annual Conti Symposium! 

It was so much fun to connect with all the technicians and doctors who were attending the symposium. 

In order for veterinarians and licensed technicians to maintain their licenses, they are required to attend a certain amount of CE every 2 years. This year the focus of the Conti, was dermatology! 

I spoke at the Conti Symposium back in 2019 when the topic was Toxicity in animals and I presented working in a toxic work environment.

I had a fun day, and I saw three of my clients!

                        Earlier this week I went to Bloomfield Animal Hospital in Lakewood to do Feline Friendly handling and training and had a lot of fun. 

They are a great team! They really care about cats and want to do things the best way possible.

I take my own dogs there for veterinary care and I can`t say enough good things about this practice!

                        When you have a chronic illness, going to the doctor for testing becomes a little more routine. 

I just spent 40 minutes getting my brain scanned to see if I have any more lesions. In the background you can see the trailer that I got my MRI in ☺️ 

Getting MRIs regularly is something I`m used to since I have had multiple sclerosis for the past 21 years. 

It definitely doesn`t get any quieter, even with the earplugs lol. 

As a working veterinary professional, I have to schedule my doctor`s appointments around my work day just like everyone else. This afternoon I`m doing feline friendly training at a local veterinary hospital. 

I am fortunate that my MS has been maintaining over the past 2 years. I know there are a lot of people who are struggling with chronic illness and it is for that reason that I openly talk about mine. I want to make people comfortable talking about their illnesses so that other people get used to it as well.

I don`t think anyone should have to hide any type of disease. mental or physical

                        Yep, I`m at the airport again! 

Today I am getting ready for my early morning flight to San Francisco to visit Lenity Veterinary Specialists in San Mateo.

I have been working with this hospital for almost a year, and I truly enjoy the team. It`s always a very busy 3 days while I`m up there, but we get a lot done.

I am thankful that my husband takes care of all the animals while I`m gone ❤️
