My name is Melissa Tompkins-Lewis.
I started in the veterinary field in 2003 as a vet assistant/receptionist before becoming a practice manager in 2005 after graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. I earned my CVPM in 2011, and both my PHRca and CCFP in 2020.
I am very active within the veterinary community. I am the co-founder of the North Orange County Veterinary Manager's Group and the Long Beach Area Veterinary Manager's Group. I have served on multiple boards and committees with organizations like the SCVMA, VHMA, SoCal Veterinary Manager's Network, and VetPartners.
After working as a full-time practice manager for over 13 years, I started my own consulting company South Coast Veterinary Management Solutions in 2018. I now have the opportunity to help multiple hospitals all over the country.
